When the Blue Mountain Middle School was originally constructed in the 1970’s there were very few outdoor connections. The existing middle school was completely renovated to include new skylights in classrooms and hallways with views to the exterior. The design called for new mechanical and electrical systems. Interior spaces such as the library and music room were expanded. Additions included a new office, and a cafetorium (combination cafeteria and auditorium). The district offices, located on the lower level of the school, were completely renovated. A maintenance and storage facility was also added behind the school. The project was completed while Joel K. Sims was an Associate at RLPS Architects.
